Nice spoon Lightfoot what wood is it made from?

Cheers guys,the spoon is made from Silver Birch that I then boiled in coffee for about 15 mins to give it the colour.As birch is so white it easily stains if you are going to use it for eating and the coffee colour saves it from looking too much of a mess,a good tip I picked up from Lupus on this forum.

Lovely work... and does it smell of coffee too? I think I'd like that, I'll have to give it a try

Yes it does smell of coffee for a while,but does wear off fairly quickly.If you are going to give it a go,after boiling with a couple of tablespoons of coffee for ten to fifteen mins I leave it in the pot for about half an hour and then leave outside to dry out before finishing off.
