OK - I will admit it - in some of the photos I have posted I may look a bit effeminate, what with the tutu and false eyelashes, but I have never before been taken for a genuine bird!
As I approached my front door, key in one hand, daysack in the other a Sparrow Hawk swooped on me, brushed my hat and then bumped, lightly, against the front door, before swerving wildly and flying into the trees opposite our house .. did it think I was a bird?
Unfortunately I had no time to dig pout the camera ... or do anything much ... before he was gone.
This is certainly the closest and most weird wildlife encounter I have ever had!
