Hi :)

I'm wondering if I aluminium is a bad idea to use over open fire?
I have several german army messkits, and it would be easier (read: cheaper) for me to use one of those, instead of having to invest in a billycan or simmilar. But perhaps the aluminium makes it less than ideal for this purpose, or will it just affect it's longlivety?
