Aluminium beer / drink bottles - where to buy them?

Just thought I'd try out the hive mind...

I wanted to have a go at making some of these http://www.instructables.com/id/Aluminum-Bottle-Tumbler-Cup-Cook-Pot/step8/Finish/ and obviously need some appropriate aluminium bottles.

I clocked last year that Budweiser and Coors were shipping beer in these bottles in my local Asda and thought great, a ready supply as and when I want them. However I went to pick some up at the weekend and everything was glass. I've not found any Asda or Lidl neareast to my house, will try a Tescos tonight.

Anyone know where I can get some? if it makes a difference I'm in the South West, Swindon Wiltshire to be precise.

You can get Carling in ally bottles, I believe. Which lavatory you choose to pour it down is entirely up to you.

Does it have to be beer bottles Ben, would ally deodorant cans do?

Empty baked bean tin will do just as well without having to do any work on it if you only want to make a cooking pot, plus you can heat up & eat the contents.

There's some nasty coatings on the inside of food tins which can be released when heated, best to check first

Shame the beer was flat in them. SWMBO got me 3, just waiting for an opportunity to get in the shed!

Cheers for replies guys. Been to 5 different supermarkets and local B&M and no bottles yet.

Guess they are out there somewhere, I just need to keep looking.
