Aldi special offers, 2kg and 450g axe's Thursday 5th August 2013

Hi,

Has anyone tried these axes from Aldi, offer starts on Thursday 5th August and I think they've had them in before so was wondering if anyone has had any experience with them. A 2kg large axe and 450g small carbon steel axe, doesn't look like both have wooden handles but cheap non the less.

The small axes a realy good buy, i had one for my kindling, the balance is good, get one.

They are in store from tomorrow and for £5 seems like a bargain, I'd rather use an axe for splitting wood than my Mora Triflex which isn't full tang.

Update: Have bought the small axe and have had to sharpen it up as the convex edge wasn't very good but overall its not a bad axe, I hit the back of it with some flint and managed to produce sparks so it can also be used to make fire, not keen on the plastic handle but for £5 I'm not gonna grumble about that.
