Aldi Diamond Sharpening Block

Came across this on sale at Aldi from Thursday. Im new to knives and so far just have a cheap Mora. Ive been putting off trying to sharpen it but wondered if this block is any good and whether anyone knows what grits it contains.

200, 300, 400, 600 grit.

Not tried using it yet though, so cant comment on how good it is.

I use one of these as my first stage sharpening system.
Then I go onto wet&dry paper on foam mats for "agressive" stropping, finishing with a leather strop

similar is available in B&Q for about £2 more not what i call brilliant but oks for the price but check it hasnt got any lumps in the grit

I've got one. It's not bad. Brings the blade to a useable edge.

I've been using the same one for a few years on the chisels, the "diamond" coating has worn off in a few places but it still gets used quite a bit.

I picked one up and the 600 puts a reasonable edge on. guess i need to get something to finish the job though. maybe on payday ill get the stones

I have the same system, but I use them for lapping my waterstones.

I have one of these and i'd say the 600 grit is the same as 240 in wet and dry. they are ok(ish) wouldnt want to rely on them totally but for the money not bad
