Could two lightweight sleeping down bags = a versitile 2-4 season down bag?

Afternoon everyone, hope you don't mind me resurrecting this thread?

I've already got a great synthetic sleeping bag but it weighs a ton a takes up most of my rucksack.

So I'm very interested in buying the lightweight Aegismax envelope down bag (mentioned above) which seems to have good reviews.

Can I ask - do you think buying two so that I could use a single as a summer bag/quilt and then put one over the other to create a reasonable 3/4 season bag might work?

Two compressed are still smaller and lighter than my single synthetic bag and at around £110 all in it seems worth a shot.

(I had considered a UKHammocks ground dwellers quilt but am reluctant to pay a fair bit more and wait 5 or more weeks).

I'd be very interested in any of your opinions?

Many thanks.
