Today I went looking for the short section of steel tophat I saved a few years ago, only to remember I put it out for recycling a month ago. Rule #1 Never throw anything structural away

I feel your pain tengu, as you know, I once had a reasonably tidy house, (it's never been perfect, but hey, I don't like perfectly tidy rooms that you are afraid to put a cup down on a table if you can't find a placemat!)
Since lockdown, my home has become a bit of a junkyard with so many magazines and baskets of wool, camp gear and heaven only knows what else.
So, this week I've tackled the magazines. I've got rid of all bar a few that I want certain articles from. Bought a few folders and tomorrow, I will take out those articles out of the mags, and file them in the folders...then I'll have to find a place for those, but at least it will take up much less room than before.
Last week, it was the bathroom. I am planning to make some sort of door in the bath pannel to store stuff I want to keep under the bath. I'm down to one small tote of stuff to keep.
Next week I plan to sort all the day sacks..(all 15 of them,) and only keep the best ones. Trouble is, I like to colour co ordinate my gear, so I have to cure myself of that obsession pretty quick, if I'm to be successful there!
Then I've got some motorcycle gear to shift, leather jeans, jacket and boots. Oh it's hard!
My advice, is take one bit at a time.

Removable (mini lobster clip as an example) zip pulls in a variety of colours that suit you outfits, and/or various colours of rain covers, may help.

I don't want to buy anything more! I'm emotionally attached to some stuff, memories of trips I'm no longer capable of repeating for instance. I'm going to have to get tuff with myself.
I won't use much of it again if I'm honest, but.... you never know! That 35 litre pack may just be the right size if I ever do x y or z, but its crap on my shoulders, and I realy love the comfy back system on the 25 ltre blue one, but its not quite big enough...... and so it goes on.
I found a set of bath and basin taps today. (Second hand, but in a1 condition)
I intended to replace my old ones, but couldn't find them.
2 weeks ago the h/a eventualy replaced them, as the job had been outstanding since pre covid.
annoying !
They are quite fancy, much nicer than the h/a ones that replaced the realy crappy old ones.
Oh well. .....but shall I keep them?
Aaaagh, decluttering is a horrible nightmare! Somebody wake me up when it's done and dusted, please. :)
