Hmmm......sounds interesting, and at £3.99, you cant really go wrong. ITS PLASTIC!!!! Has anyone ever tried one of these? Is it completely useless? I just bought one on Attleborough Accesories (www.attacc.com).
Ideas?

One more thing, i am probably the luckiest person, woodlore emailed me asking me if i wanted to buy the Micarta WS, because they had one more than they thought, and would be able to ship right away! So, naturally, i ceased the oppertunity, and it will be with me friday mid-day!):

Cheers,

Jake

A G Russell used to make a plastic knife (or was it carbon fibre). Maybe things have moved on a bit but that was really no more than a prodding tool!

For 4 quid though it's hard to go wrong ...

I just recieved it in the post, i wouldnt really recomend it, it is a bit of sharp, very hard plastic. Maybe useful for all the dirty tasks that dont require a sharp knife.

Another thing that came in the post was.....My Woodlore Micarta! I got an email on wednsday saying they had a spare, and hey presto, here it is!
A beautiful thing, and i have finally realised why i find it hard lighting fires with a puukko, the WS showers sparks that are much hotter!
I cant wait to get out and use it!

Cheers,

Jake

Hello I purchased two a month ago from attac.
Don´t expect cut nothing with them.
I use them as envelope openers.
One thing that surprised me was that the knife is made as if you have a normal knife and cut it simetricaly along its lenth so you get a normal side and other plane.
No bad for the price.
Enjoy

I just did quite a basic test on it. Pushed the tip with my finger....it bent.

I am going to give it to my little brother, who is just learning bushcraft for the first time. (big age difference means i aint gonna buy him a real one just yet)

Cheers,

Jake

Look...I dont want to cause any kerfuffle or anything.... But the wee knife was designed for a purpose.... And it wasn't Bushcraft.

I know, but i thought it may be useful "all-purpose" V.light work cutting knife. And also i was just curious about how serious they were about a plastic knife!

Jake

My AG Russell won't do that, in fact you could drive it through a Yellow Pages easily without any problem at all.

Certainly looks pretty tough.
Adi, what can, and do, you actually use it for, other than hammering through the yellow pages? :)

Jake, what's the toughest thing you've been able to cut with the Lansky?

Hmmm, it ceratinly aint up to stabbing the yellow pages.
It cuts string, paper (!), and can shave bark (just).

More of a novelty than anything.

Cheers,

Jake
