A Walk in Parke (pic heavy)

Half term, the sun was shining so we decided to take a bimble around Parke, the footpath, myself and 11 others created 34 years ago! First time since i have walked it, as usual most pics are obvious, but any questions comments etc always welcome. It's a circular walk of about 6 miles and it took us about 2 and a bit hours, kids didn't moan once!

Are those the gatehouses to that estate that was never built you told me about?

Hi, thanks as ever for the comments, it was a lovely walk and yes JAG, it was as i remembered it just a lot wider and well worn, only all those years ago it was never used and seemed a waste of time and money, but it is now really well used. Myself and 11 other lads built the path by hand, under the YOP'S scheme, between school and college, it was rubbish really, but thank goodness for it as far as i am concerned as it only strengthened my love of the outdoors.

Skate, yes they are Forder Gate Houses , a rich fellow decided he was going to build an impressive estate, complete with mansion, but he was not as rich as he thought he was! So the gate houses were built and the money ran out, the drive goes nowhere circa 1896 ish.
