Hi,

Had two lovely walks today and saw some lovely things and took some nice piccs

However a few things I'm struggling with and need some help from the wiser amongst us

First up a lovely dragonfly - we saw many of these - Green head and a much bluer body than the picture shows. Very large in size and certainly "patrolling" in behaviour

I'm tempted to say Southern Hawker but the size and colouration also makes me want to say Emperor - can anyone tell me for certain?

Next up a buttefly - I want to say one of the Fritillaries but the wing shape is throwing me - is it just damage?

Next a couple of fungi - this one I'm fairly sure is a giant puffball with a chunk missing - however not having seen one in this area before, I'd like some confirmation

Lastly this odd looking fungus. I know its old and may be hard to identify but the "petal" arrangement is confusing me (I know little about fungi anyway). The only one I have seen before that does that is a collared earthstar and I'm sure its not that

Any help with any / all would be much appreciated

Great day for a walk (or two in my case:eek: )

I'd still go for Southern Hawker, most of the hawkers have some hair on the thorax, the hairy dragonfly is much downier, also abdomen markings not right for hairy.

Interesting! I didn't know beofre today that any Dragonflies were hairy

Is the damage to the rear wing normal?
