you use the choc to polish the concave bottom of a can which then acts as a parabolic mirror when held up to the sun and ignites some tinder held at just the right point in front of the can as the mirror focuses the suns rays at a central point

Despite that how the chuff do you start a fire with a pop can and chocolate, I got that wrong?


THe chocolate acts like a polishing compound to produce a mirror finish on the convex bottom of the drinks can, this is then used a parabolic mirror; you then find the focal point and then use the suns rays the start the fire for you. It got tested in one of the bushcraft mags a couple of years ago, and it did in fact work:eek: but was a bit hit-and-miss. i gave it a go and got mixed results, and a major Bo***ing from SWMBO for using her chocolate.:twak:
