My wife asked to have a go at woodturning today, so we spent a pleasant hour letting her gouge bits out of wood. She seemed to enjoy herself.
At the end there was a stray bit of wood, and I had an idea to try to make something a little smaller than my usual.
This is the result:
The wood is grey poplar, finished with groundnut oil.
With my clunky tools, shaping something this small was an interesting challenge, and I had to use different tools from the usual. I learned a fair bit, and best of all, it was fun, and fairly quick to do.
