This post was a wierd brainchild, that started back in the thread onTHE DURABILTY OF VICTORINOX ELECTRONICS . And one of the members PM'd me, ask asked me about the stresses and demands that a "Hoodlum"
puts on and SAK.
So here is some informational resourses, from brother Hoodlums, that may be of help!!

A couple of other points. Why we're partial to the LOCKBLADE SAKs???
the cutting blade actually locks which gives it added safety. Also, the knife & saw blades are longer, hense more cutting/ sawing surface. Also, the shape/size of the lockblade handle makes the lockblade the most comfortable of all the SAKs.
OH!!!! And lastly, if you are getting an SAK for outdoor use,,ANY MODEL!!!!!! Make sure that model has a sawblade!!!!.
PS!!!!!!! Though some may consider this BLASPHEMY, and label me an APOSTATE!!!
But , I have not mention the "thicker model" SAKs(Champion, Champ, etc.). It's success is equaled by its shortcoming, IT's THICK!!! And does become uncomfortable with use. Luckily, if you have the change to spare , The Swisstool( if you like lots of tools) should rectify the problem.
And the pliers on the Swisstool are better than on the Champs.
(and I'm a person, who cut his teeth on the Champ SAK)
puts on and SAK.
