Not too long ago I came across a reliable, effective and quick technique for determining wind direction with something you already own so thought I would share it with everyone:

I laughed at his eyeballs method. I wore glasses since I was about 12, then had laser surgery in my 50s. It felt very strange indeed to be able to feel the breeze on my eyes at first, now it feels almost claustrophobic if I put on sunglasses.
