Hi Fellas,
Heres a couple of scandis i handled whilst the site was down, both are neckers.

The Finnish Lauri Blades Are Made From .8% Carbon Steel, the tang Goes up to the last cm of the handle.

first one is the rough prototype i made up from a small lauri clip point blade, the handle is local oak, its a nice little user, solid enough for hard use and sharp.

The Second is the improved Version, This one has the same blade, but features a Birds Eye maple Burr Handle which is slightly longer than the previous in order to provide a more positive grip, the handle has been finished with several layers of boiled linseed oil and wax.

Neither have brass Bolsters as i wanted minimal transition between the blade and the handle,
i have since made up a rough temporary leather neck sheath that fits both knives.

Any Comments or advice on improving my work will be Much Appreciated

I have seen one before the Lauri 70 will birdseye maple seems to have a rather small handle IMO. The Lauri 70 is a rather small blade.
