I have the cheapest lathe I could find, you don't need anything fancy but my little lathe did struggle a bit with the rpm and lack of horsepower when it started the rough logs!

Thanks for all the nice comments! Give it a try, they are a super easy project! More work to clean up the mess!

Cheapy lathe from Canadian Tire, nothing special......I think I paid around $89.95 for it on sale a few years ago.
