Come along to the amazing Summer Moot (21st July - 2nd August), a festival of bushcrafting and camping in a beautiful woodland PLEASE CLICK HERE for more information.
Sorry guys, but I just can't get away from carving these. Bit of burr cherry sitting for a while and I decided it needed carved. Pity I can't take good pics, maybe natural light would have been better.
Just the usual axe, hook knife, sloyd, angle grinder with chainsaw disc!! thanks for looking.
That really is a very nice piece indeed, and a great size. I love the detail on the back of the handle.......One of the nicest kuksas I've seen for a long time
Thanks very much guys. The wood certainly helps carry it off.
I have a bottle of distillers edition Royal Lochnagar waiting for it but it will be a large dram going in!!!
Need to work on a nice location next.
thanks again
That is a thing of beauty mate. Have a birch burl in the backyard I have been meaning to work on for ages. How long did it take btw and did you use sandpaper at all?
