This is a replica of a bronze age bowl that was found during excavations at the site of Heathrow's Terminal 5. I saw pictures of the bowl when it was first found and loved it but never got round to making a copy. This one was commissioned to go in a display of replica stuff in the new terminal building. Carved from a half poplar log exactly like the original and finished with cutting tools then scraped smooth.

It's nice that you get to leave your bowl for all to see , hopefully it'll last as long as the one they found which is most likely a replica of one that the maker copied from.

That's awesome Robin, I have had an idea about reconstructing one kuksa like that from a picture that I have and this might be just what I needed to start going :) thanks.
