I "rescued" a caterpillar yesterday. It was merrily crawling on the footpath by the main road, and I didn't want to leave it there to be squashed by some galloping oaf (plenty of them
, not enough caterpillars) It was about 1 1/4 to 1 1/2" long, hairy red/brown.
Isn't that really early in the year?
Pity I didn't have a camera with me. Any idea what it could have been from my poor description?
