Hi Pablo quick question would it be easy enough to attach Velcro between layers im going to be using mine soon after receiving it but as we get colds snaps in the middle of the night I don't want the liner working loose and slipping out

I would try it out first. The reason mine slips is becasue I wriggle about a lot. Next weekend I'm also going to try putting the thermarest inside the sleeping bag.

I can;t see any reason why velcro can;t be fiited thoug. I'm just not good with a needle and thread!

Welcome!

I use a DD hammock, 2007 version, but the 2008 looks even better :D

DD's are long, strong and I can sleep on my side very comfortably in one. I put the thermarest in the hammock underneath my bag and it works well. I found that putting it in between the layers really doesn't work and it ends up on the floor in the morning.

Good Luck with your search, I recommend the DD.

I've never had that problem myself. The worst I've had is my 3/4 length thermarest slipping down a bit and leaving me with a cold spot at my shoulders.

Got one comming from the Group buy! :D

Not sure when the dispatch date is, sure sandbag47 will let me know if he reads this.

Good to know it comfortable for a side sleeper. :)

I have a Clark North American too and I've had the best nights sleep and the worst nights sleep in it.

To me, it all comes down to the rigging - rig it with your feet about 6" - 1' above your head and as taught as possible. Tie some guy lines to the loops on the sides of the hammock (excellent for ground rigging) and pull out sideways a la Hennessey. This will give the stomach/ restless sleepers more lateral room to manouevre.

Hi Fin,
Tried it last night, I have fittings in my house for testing/modifying hammocks. ..... Much to the amusement of visitors!

Don't know if I pulled it to taught, it was like a cofin for me, and I could not pull it out with the side tabs with putting them under to much stress.
Certainly flatter of course but to straight jacket like, possibly with a little more tinkering I could get it right.

Cheers!

Hi Stiks,

Try rigging it slack first, then pull out the sides - not too tight you're just spreading the width of the hammock a little to stop it wrapping around you when you get in. Once the sides are secure - get in. Test for comfort and then gradually tighten the length. The sides are the key - it makes the hammock less coffin like - a reason the Hennessy has it's fans.

Good luck
