Hi, i was thinking of buying a 4m x 4m tarp instead of the 3x3 and wanted to know if a 135cm walking stick would be high enough to do this.

Not sure I can answer that question, but just watched (and enjoyed) the youtube link, not seen it done before and looks great (both options) 4x4 seems pretty massive, you sure you need this much material/ space?

You'd probably get 1 adult and 2 medium sized kids inside that style shelter using a 3x3, especially with the second method.

As for dong it with a 4x4 you could use your 135cm walking stick but would likely have to have a wider door.

Here's another setup using a 12x10 (feet) and shows approximately what you can get with a 4x4 (metres). This lady has completed both the AT and the PCT, so she knows what she's talking about.

Doesn't have the beak that the OP showed, which might be a serious consideration in the rainy UK:)

I have tried it with 135cm sticks and found them too short, they needed to be at least 30cm longer, unless you want to commando crawl in the entrance :)
