:yikes: Well ... this is it !!! I'm obviously an incredible chatter-box !!! This is my 3000th post.
I got involved here when I was stuck in the recliner chair after the first dollop of foot operations last October and have hardly been offline since! As some of you will know I spent the winter in and out of hospital having my feet fixed; I had a very good surgeon but working with osteoporosis, rheumatoid arthritis and diabetes is not the easiest thing. It finally got righted in February; the outside metatarsal on my left foot crumbled due to the osteoporosis, the surgeon removed the rubble so I now only have 4 metatarsal bones in that foot! Both feet now work though as those of you who met me at the Bushcraft show can attest
Whatever Ive found a home for one of my passions here. I love being outdoors, in the wilderness preferably and wild-camping is a real favourite. Youve all taught me so much and not only about kit but about wild plants and bees and animals, shooting, tracking, navigating and lots more. Im now committed to hanging and even in process of considering getting a Warbonnet!
Ive made so many good friends and met some of them in the flesh, had such fun going out with folks for nights and weekends and bimbles, and Im looking forward to much more. All you folk here are so genuine and generous, helpful, supportive and caring, its a privilege to be a part of this parish, thank you Tony and the Mods and Admins and Everyone for making it possible.

But 3000 posts definitely needs a competition. I couldnt make up my mind what to do for it but a friend helped with ideas (thanks Harvestman) so here it is
The question ...
The Prize no its not the woolly hat and gloves! The winner gets
Ill let the competition run for about a week, hope there are lots of guesses, and the winner will be the one who gets closest. Ill photograph the scales so you know for sure (grin).
Good luck gals and guys

The question ...
- How heavy is my Monmouth Cap and fingerless gloves set? To give you a vague clue its between 100 & 500 gm, that gives you lots of leeway.
The Prize no its not the woolly hat and gloves! The winner gets
- a pot of my homemade Seville marmalade and a small bottle of my own sloe vodka (sorry! I drank all the gin!). Both are said to taste divine .
Ill let the competition run for about a week, hope there are lots of guesses, and the winner will be the one who gets closest. Ill photograph the scales so you know for sure (grin).
