I've seen some 10m lengths of 14oz cotton canvas and wondered if it's any good for making tarps or a lavvu ;)

It mentions a polyproperlene thread in the warp to add strength aswell.

It's 78" wide so a useful size to play with.

Anybody got plans for a DIY tipi/lavvu ?

In Oz a lot of swags advertised as being suitable for 'professional use', ie frequent heavy duty usage, are made of 15oz ripstop canvas. Many others, intended for less regular usage, are made of 12oz canvas. Based on that, I would suggest that 14oz canvas would be fine.

Yeah, terrible stuff you'd better give it away! :)
Seriously, it'd be fine for a tent or shelter. You could probably go quite a bit lighter if weight was a big issue but it'll work fine.
