01 stock removal knife, copper liners and antler scales

Here is a work in progress. Its been in progress for over a year, and I thought it was high time I finished a project. It started out as a scandi grind but I changed my mind. Its now a flat with micro bevel.

I will be heat treating the blade in a friends glass kiln, thing is, I can't remember what temp to take it to before the quench. Any suggestions? (The kiln is accurage to + \ - 2 degrees C)

I plan to temper it in the oven at home, when the Mrs is out.

Thought I'd have a go with the veg tan I had lying about.

It's going to be a necker

Planning to put a firesteel alongside the blade. It's going to be pretty tight.

Agree with the above post, needs to be about 800c and then 200-220c for tempering, this will give you a rockwell hardness of about 59.
There may be slight variation with temps though, so dont forget to, make sure it has become non magnetic before quenching (this is a sign its reaches critical temp)
