01 carbon steel suppliers

does anyone know of a supplier for 01 carbon steel in the uk? preferably in NE area but not critical.

Try looking at Phoenix Steels in Sheffield. You will need GFS, (ground flat stock)

Yes, Cromwells do it as well, and their list prices do seem to be little cheaper, but I'm not sure of their postage rates. Phoenix seem to have a standard rate of £8 postage for GFS. I ordered quite a bit of the stuff and thats all they charged.

The cheapest source will depend of whether you have a branch of Cromwells near enough to collect from in person I guess.

Its usually £4.60 postage for the amounts i order , usually about 2 bars of 3mm stock 40mm deep 2 bars of 3mm x 15mm and 2 of each 2mm and 3mm silver steel bar keeps me going for a while I have a cromwells near me but am far to lazy to go there to pick it up

all the steel I have ordered from there has been flawless and it came within 2 days of ordering which was a pleasant suprise compared to some internet companies I have ordered from
