I make do with only 4 pints of blood and one kidney as I have a Kifaru pack and sleeping bag, but mostly just use a cheapo Mora knife.

I've noticed a current trend towards smaller sacks stuffed to the gills, with pouches attached to the outside. Where as I tend to go for a bigger pack compressed around the load.
Is there something I'm missing?
