Hi I am looking to get an axe super quickly at the weekend and want to go and choose it. I live in Basingstoke and work in Farnborough. Can anyone recommend a good place to go. I wouldn't mind a small Gransfors or cheaper equivelant. I would be using it for splitting small logs/branches rather...

    Will this work well?

Thanks all - yo uare probably right it's not going to be the most effective idea but at least it'll be fun rocking up at the campsite with the biggest firestarter ever hehe I'll be setting to it with the 30mm drill tomorrow to make the air hole etc, and we shall see... - I almost want to start...

    Will this work well?

    - It's not a great diagram.... The idea hopefully is to keep the log in one peice and burn as shown above, but then it should burn in half leaving 2 seperate peices of log we can use as a star fire... does that make a bit better sense? I was hoping it will burn the log in half rather than just...

    Will this work well?

Hi, We are going camping soon and as the place we are going doesn't have much wood it would be unfair to be cutting thier forest down... So I have a large log that was spare and wondered if I drilled out as showing in the picture below would it split/burn so we could do one of those fires...

    Which oil for Lansky Sharpener...

Hi. It does indeed clear it up. I've got some general pupose oil that I'll use. Sharpened my Khukuri today for it's first proper use and it ate through a 6" peice of wood in no time! Amazing! (Looks similar to this: Mark :D
