    Too Much Yeast!!!

Ok I've messed up a little. I was rushing the last step of my pear wine as my son wanted my attention and ended up misreading teaspoon for tablespoon, it was a new type of yeast so I didn’t think that amount was odd, until I read it again! I’ve scooped some out but what’s the verdict? Am I...

    Goodbye old friend

Having spent the last 10 years of our life together I’ve lost a kind friend. We have had some good trips and some bad trips but he has always managed to put a smile back on my face. I can remember the last dram we had together in Nepal on the hillside, sheltering from the rain in our tent but...

    Mushroom Fungi ID ?

Sorry for tagging on to this one, I didn’t want to create more mushroom threads than there already are. Anyone know what this one is. The sack on top ejected the spores when pressed. http://upload.pbase.com/image/87208973 Also I've not got a pic but apart from the puff ball are there...

    Matts Elderberry Wine.

I did sterelize everything before hand. Oh well I guess I'll have to open it up tonight and cross my fingers that all is ok. Match - The fermentation has slowed right down, almost stopped. Should I add more yeast or just drink the stuff before it has chance to get worse :D

    Matts Elderberry Wine.

Hi all, I'm nearly 3 weeks into fermentation and have noticed a thin white, hint of green line around the top of the wine, I've got a bad feeling about it, please tell me it'll be ok.

    Symbols on trees

Hi, Can anyone tell me what the following text / symbols mean in my local woods. The first one I'm assuming is for the forestry commission. They have removed a section of the bark from a whole line of trees: http://www.pbase.com/masonnet/image/86828853 The second is a symbol of some...

    Fjallraven Jacket

Hi all, I can't decide between the Montt jacket and layer up for winter or to go straight for the Greenland Winter jacket? Has anyone any experience of either jacket? I'm not sure if the Greenland Winter will be a little to hot for the mild winters we seem to get. Cheers

    Wild Food Sites

Hi all, I have seen lots of different fruit trees on a old pit tip site which has been soiled over and planted with grass, conifers and fruit trees. My question is would these be safe to eat due to the usage of the old site, my gut feeling would say no but its so tempting with all that free...

    Hi

I've been lurking around for a while so thought it time I said hello. I'm into anything that gets me outdoors and have been interested in bushcraft for a few years but other than lighting a few fires when I'm camping and cutting wood in my back yard I've not done much. I'm planning on...
