"Help for Heroes" Charity Auction #6

Ladies and Gents, Now, I don't have any skills to offer, great kit or experience to help anyone else out. But Red struck a chord when he spoke in his knife and axe offer about something personal, and while I don't have any great amount of money, I do have something that perhaps might be of...

Group Buy on a Nessmuk Axe?

I'd be interested too, not at all sure that I could afford it mind, but considering that I just paid £135 for something that was hand made and a bit more for something else that is being made for me, the prices discussed don't seem overboard. Thanks again for this Red. I appreciate that you...

    What vehicle for bushcraft?

Left hookers are only a problem if you want to overtake, and I guess that isn't going to be too much of a problem too often, lol. The other advice I would give is never to get to close to the back of a bus - when they stop as they do, you can't see bugger all and have to wait until they move...

    This is bugging me

If you are going to be wiggling then you need to add twitching your nostrils and moving your scalp/ hair (if you can do the ears, you should be able to do this). But these are different to the hand foot thing as it's a matter of getting control of the individual muscles, whereas I think we can...

    The changing colours of landrover....

It's a shocking colour... but I like it too, lol.

The "Red Hunters Axe" by Cegga - second group buy

Phew, thank goodness someone went for the mini, it was far too tempting. Lets hope he buys it so I don't get tempted again.

    horse hair

I could do with a handful of hair. Guess I should start lurking around some of my local fields then!

    Wasps Nest

Looks like one on the right, and thats the one you need to watch. Thats where mine was and when I removed the remains, they had nearly eaten through the plasterboard into the room below...

I could make a suggestion, but its a bit off topic for this forum! :p

    Wasps Nest

The one time I had pest controllers round to deal with exactly that (and incidentally, the nest was resting on the floor and they were eating their way through the plasterboard ceiling), the guy sprayed one can on the nest, cut it open and sprayed another can inside.

    Adder attack !!!

Well unless you intend to start attacking adders, as the dog obviously was, then I wouldn't really worry about it too much. The only people I've ever known to get bitten by adders were all being stupid...

    organised?

It was what I meant yes <grins>. The original research did as I understand state x litres per day, which is what is quoted nowadays, but they fail to include the end of the sentence in the original study which is as above that 80% of that requirement is supplied in the eaten food. I recall...

    Paypal address forwarding

I'm as puzzled by that as you... Given that it's paypal that is doing the transaction directly to the individuals email account, I'm at a loss as to why it doesn't appear to be forwarded when clearly it's an essential part of the transaction.

    Rabbit skin

Thats fair enough John and I wasn't intending to impose on your limited time. Deer I might well be interested in later in the year depending on how things go, but again I don't have the possibility of tanning so perhaps I can find someone more local. Thanks again for making the offer even if...

    Rabbit skin

lol, well I would be intersted in skins that I could use without further ado (only because of the postage and because I think my wife would have fits), and I'd be prepared to pay for the work and postage involved. Not necessarily our friend Hunter here since he's obviously innundated :)

I could have a use for some tanned ones, which clearly these aren't...

Anyone know what this flower is?

It is a start indeed. Add a few more plants as the seasons change and next year you will be well on your way to recognising many of the more common plants, which is more than most can do.
