    Penny stove test

Great video, kids love it and you love it,bet the bacon grill tastes even better cooked outside, the 2nd lot looked good. Made a few penny stoves, great laugh. I've used them in my storm kettle great for indoor hot water and to heat the shed up in the winter.

Show us your vices! (virtous ones, I mean...)

I've got a samsonia 38a perfect vise model j,I paid £8 including the wrought iron bench. The last owner was a welder so has loads of spatter and striking arcs on it.Weighs a ton but proved it's worth a few times. Can't put any pics up due to photobucket messing about.

    W'shop insulation ideas?

Keep your eye on gumtree, have a look in the freebies section stuff usually pops up on there that save people going to the tip. Or try putting an add on freecycle if you have it where you live.

A first rough and ready penny stove attempt.

Looks well and it works . As long as it makes a brew Made a few with different designs, good way to waste a bit of time and raise the temperature in the shed a fair few degrees. Try putting the coin on once it gets hot and starts coming out of the jets.

    Bullace? Cherry Plum? Other?

Looks like a cherry plum, loads near me the building company planted when they built new houses. They come in all shapes, sizes and colours and white blossom early on in the year. Make nice jam. I cut a few sticks from them and the wood seemed to have a red tinge to it.
