Hello all, can't find this in the books available to me (think I need a new more comprehensive guide), any ideas?
Thanks in advance.

Hi Adam, I used a 4m veg tan leather, I would go for a more flexible leather next time, only down to 3m.
I got it from J. T. Bachelors Ltd. In North London. They have a good scraps bin If you want to experiment.

My first one I made for a friend, had trouble with the rivets being weak though... gotta source some stronger ones, any leads would be appreciated.

Sounds great, I'd love the recipes If your willing. I have just finished a batch of elderflower wine, tastes pretty good, but no flowers left now, going to have to wait for the berries.
These are some great suggestions, thank you all.
I'm currently brewing my elderflower wine. And have finished off some elderflower cordial, going to have to make some more :-)
Thanks guys, real good info here, i hope others benefit from it as much as I will.
I'm going to a campsite as others are using tents but they say they have some trees for hammocks. If not.... One will do, I'll tie the other end to the van. (I'll keep hold of the keys if thats the case :-) )
Great info thank you adze, picked some more elder today as work happen to have cut a tree down, got about 50 heads out of it.
This has gone off topic a bit :-)
I will buy some bits and may even share my experience in a new thread.
Thank you for your help.
So I'm off to use my hammock for the first time this weekend. I've got all the gear but no idea at the moment, gotta start somewhere.
Anyone got any top tips?
Ah brilliant thanks for the tip.
I found this...

Do you recon that's a good start? I'll also get some funnels.. only a quid. And maybe that barrel you suggested too.
So its the start of elderflower season, more blooms coming out each day, at least it is in West London.
So does anyone have any good recipes?
Could be for the flowers or the berries. Wine, cordial, pontak sauce, all welcome.
Mine is a bit brown... not sure what it's supposed to taste like but I kinda like it.
I'm talking about the beech gin by the way... despite what it looks like
