    whats the fascination with weight?

    Middle aged, overweight female with backproblems. Very sure weight matters. In the time when fitness came naturally, carrying a heavy load didn't matter. Now every gram counts. And I wish I'd known this 20 year ago so my back wouldn't have gotten the blows it did get.

    Does anyone know how to sharpen a serrated blade

    Crudest yet effective method I saw. Elderly gentleman fixing the blade on my sawtable. He just took an electric grinder for angles and sharpened with patience every tooth of the sawblade. should be easy to do on a small knife. Sharp as anything now that sawtable blade.

    No idea Ozzy. Can't find anything on the internet about it. But if I manage to do so before I am without internet again (aka in the woods), there'll be some pics. In a howling eastern wind straight from the Ural those thick layers might be just the thing.

    Just remembered there is over 2 meter of very thick grey wool cloth lying around there as well. It got to -20C last year so might need all of the above.

    Since most of the winter will be spend in a pretty cold place, coat is the better choice. Just have to see how the curves fit my curves hehehe. Hugs back to you and mrs Red.

    Whats the WORST item of clothing you have ever bought & WHY?

    A Helly Hansen jacket. Sweat out, no rain in it said on the tin. Must have been a mondaymorning product. Most their gear is good. This coat left me drenched just in a drizzle. Might use it as a waterfilter for muddy pools.

    It does sound daft yes. But... someone gave me 5 sadle blankets in return for some work. The felted and quilted type that go under a horse's sadle. Brought them over as a gift for someone who just got rid of all his horses. So me got thinking, they have a natural curve. 3 are grey and plain...
