    MSR Mugmate.

The Mugmate is cheap and works perfectly simply. Just pour hot water over 2 scoops of grounds, wait a minute, and enjoy. It works so well, I make all my coffee with it, unless the wifey wants to make a whole pot. I don't know what could be simpler. And btw, we're home-roasting coffee snobs...

    monowalker

I turned a stroller into a canoe cart and a Hand-cart, that I should have no trouble re-purposing into a "mono-walker". I just need to alter the handle and add a hip belt... You can see it here...

    Is This Juniper

Trailing (or Creeping) Juniper, Juniperis horizontalis, I assure you. :)

    Is This Juniper

Looks like Trailing (or Creeping) Juniper, Juniperis horizontalis to me. Very common here in Newfoundland, along with Common Juniper (J. communis). The Trailing variety almost appears braided, or Twisted compared to the Common (my mnemonic).

Chaga tea, can anyone tell me where

Boiling it actually releases more of Chaga's goodness - I've simmered it for an hour or two, but 10 minutes will do in a pinch. I use 2-3 chunks about the size of your thumb. Makes a delicious dark tea, maybe add some honey. Or save the chaga water for cooking oatmeal. You can buy it online...

    DIY Collapsible Rocket Stove

I'd been putting off on making a Rocket stove, because I wanted something packable. Most designs seemed too bulky. I'd long heard of their effiency, but I only had a Square Tuit. Well, I finally got a Round Tuit... I can't post attachments, so here's my thread over on BCUSA. Cheers...

A bundle of Old Mountain Bikes

Canoe cart/dolly, trailer for bicycle, snow(ski) bike, tow along hitch-bike for small children, single wheel bike trailer, a bike rack made of bikes, a coat or hat rack/hanger, etcetera... All ideas I've found on the Web at some point... Good luck!

    Cooking pot maintenance

Scrub the outside with river stone/gravel/sand (in season, of course) Otherwise, I just let it build up until it gets too heavy.

Which Berry is this and did I miss a tasty treat?

Cloudberry indeed, but here in Newfoundland we call them bakeapples, supposedly an english corruption of the french "baie qu'appelle". They grow in abundance on the bogs and marshes of Newfoundland, as well as throughout Labrador and Quebec. They make a lovely liqueur, as well.

    Fat wood

Our Newfoundland climate is a lot more like the UK's than Florida or the Southern US (home of real quality fat wood, throughout the whole stump and beyond). Must be the heat, 'cause it ain't the humility... I've found that the pines here - White, Red, Jack, and Scot(ch) Pine - don't accumulate...

I'm not a prepper...but my son will be...

I think it's possible and probable that the worst case scenarios will come to pass, ie rising temps, sea level, glacial/polar met, storms, etc. And I think Man is poisoning the planet with chemicals and petroleum, destroying clean air, water and soil. But I do not think Man has a thing to do...

    camp coffee?

I totally get the need for fresh coffee - I roast my own as well, with a fair trade Kenya AA at top of my list right now (a roast I call Dark Heart :) ). BTW I love my MSR Mugmate - perfect brew everytime! But instead of grinding right after roasting (which does has a delightful appeal) I...

Homemade woodgas stove, flatbread and coffee

Nice stove! Try the MSR Mugmate (works for teas, too) or GSI collapsible pour-over for making coffee - I use and love them both.

    Poop hammock.

But where does the water go? Reminds me of the Jolly Jumper Mom used to keep me in while she was doing housework. https://www.google.ca/search?q=jolly+jumper&source=lnms&tbm=isch&sa=X&ei=jx8WU9nDAoTI0QHppoDoBg&sqi=2&ved=0CAcQ_AUoAQ&biw=1280&bih=814

Trangia vs pop can stoves: Ultralight weight alternative?

I use pop can stoves mainly, when not using wood. I prefer the penny stove, or the "white box" style as above. I like to use an aluminum hair spray can, too, when the wife is done. So far, I've made over a quintal of alcohol stoves (and wood burners, too) It can be a serious addiction... I...
