I've tinkered with leather work for a few years and decided it was time I tried to improve my saddle stitch. The YouTube videos by Ian Atkinson and Nigel Armitage convinced me I needed a cobblers hammer - what other reason could there be for my stitching looking rubbish :lmao:

In the past I've struggled making the cuts accurately when I've wanted to do some colrosing, whether carefully holding my carving knife by the blade or with some type of craft knife.

I took my son to the Harrogate model show today. The only thing I was really after was a wood tool rest for my Peatol (Taig) lathe as I'd been asked by someone if I could make them some lace bobbins, and I thought it would be more appropriate to use than the pole lathe :-)

I started carving spoons about a month ago and have probably produced about a dozen in that time, of which the latest four are pictured below.
