    My new water play thing.

Looks wicked - it's almost identical to my Sevylor Yukon which is great fun. You will love it. I just replaced the stock paddles with some carbon ones which I am itching to get out and try. Enjoy!

    Tops Xc EST Alpha

The Tops site is here: http://www.topsknives.com/product_info.php?products_id=315 I didn't buy from them though as they are in the US. I got mine from Heinnie - damn them and their website! No affiliation etc etc

Ah yes Dacorum!! You are right, it is the back of the saw with the blade closed. Well spotted - thanks! Tried the notch in the blade Woof but it's all coated so that didn't work. Dacorum has it with the back of the saw blade. Thanks chaps.

    Tops Xc EST Alpha

I did wonder about using the saw, but thought that would blunt it. I tried the P38 but it would need to be modified for sure. It's not a real biggy as I have other strikers or I could just put a different striker in the pouch.

Hi, just bought this little beast as it caught my eye for a good little heavyweight camping knife. You might know it comes with a survival kit but including a fire steel. However the knife is coated which means you can't use the back of it to strike the steel. I have access to a Dremel and...

Just had a new sleeping bag delivered - Kifaru Slickbag

Thanks Tiley - I couldn't find many reviews in the UK so hopefully this will help if others are looking at it. It took all my willpower not to order a Woobie at the same time. Maybe a treat for xmas. :p

'Look What I've Found' meals - boil in the bag???

These look pretty good - is it a bag per person or if you bulk it up with the veg will it do for 2 people?

Just had a new sleeping bag delivered - Kifaru Slickbag

Cost was £272 inc shipping before duty which was £72 (ouch!). So £344 all in. So a lot no doubt for a sleeping bag, but it ticked more boxes than anything else I had seen and you can't put a price on a good nights sleep. Yeah I love that flask - great bit of kit for £12.

Just had a new sleeping bag delivered - Kifaru Slickbag

So here are some pics and initial thoughts - bare with me this is my first review. Initial opening of the box and this thing is lofty! Lots of air seems to be in this and I am hopeful it will keep me warm. The fabric on the outside is pretty slick, not sure about the colour - shame it is brown...

Just had a new sleeping bag delivered - Kifaru Slickbag

Can't wait to test this bag out! After being cold all the time sleeping out decided to go for this after reading all about Kifaru and reviews on this bag. I have a Big Agnes which has been great but the down gets damp so easily I wanted something that would not get affected by damp or...

    Good outdoor lighter recomendations

I've got a Blazer lighter: http://www.heinnie.com/Lighters/Blazer-Lighters/Blazer-Lighters-CG001/p-101-859-6255/, which I have found to be really good. As the other guys say though don't take it as your only source. I also carry a peanut lighter and permanent match just in case. Oh and a fire...

    Ready Meal Reviews

Have you tried the Mountain House stuff? You just add water to it. I keep them for emergencies and "it's too late to faff about with making something" camp arrivals. It's ok, but like most dehydrated stuff it can be a bit bland.
