Pine Resin is amazing stuff and one of the many uses is to make torches with it.
Tried out two different variations. Both are made in the bush using only a knife.
The first one burnt for about 30mins (? not sure). The second one can be re-fed with resin-cristals, so it can burn much longer...
Haven't been posting for a while, much going on.
I made this device to sharpen my knifes in the field/the bush. For scandi knifes, this setup is the only one I use (in the bush as well as at home).
It can either be used to just quickly touch up your edge when out practising bushcraft or it...

You might know this already, if not, enjoy!
Guyot Design bottles made from stainless steel (distributed by Nalgene) look like a classic Nalgene bottle but can be used to cook water in.
I modified the bottle by bolting a steel chain to it (so I can hang it over a fire) and made a sleeve made of thin cloth. The sleeve is to prevent your...

greetings from Switzerland
made a video in the woods a few weeks back while doing some bushcraft cooking:
- making the dough for bacon bannock and bakeing it in the open fire
- grilling two trouts that were speared on sticks

hope you won't be too hungry after watching...
Nothing complicated here but very cheering and satsifying. All you need is:
- a nice woodland
- fire
- spare ribs and salt
- bred (or any other side dish you like)

The "knot-topic" is somewhat recurring, I know...
But since once in a while I am asked to show how I do knots and what knot I use in what situation, I decided to share my way of doing things via a YouTube Video:
Please be aware that these knots are used for setting up a camp, and not for...
Hi There
Was out yesterday, prepared a forest camp for a group of people and had to carry quite some gear. Since I am happy with my Salient backpack I decided to share my view with you.

Hej Everybody
I made my own mini lantern for outdoor use, trekking, mountaineering etc. It runs on lamp oil (ermmm, Paraffin Oil in the UK? Petrol or Petroleum in Switzerland...).

I like to spend my time outside and the term "Bushcraft" is probably coming closest to what I do.

- ...reliable...
- ...rugged and sturdy
