Flint is by far the easiest to use to make a simple axe, im sure there are
plenty of others on here who can tell you the best quarries etc to get
some flint...
Make sure whatever you fire is dry. As the moisture heats up in the pot being
fired it can make the piece explode. I've used loads of Kimmerigde type
clay to make repro prehistoric pottery, clay dug straight from the ground
and mixed with sand from the same area.

Raw garlic is excellent for keeping ticks away.
Chop up a couple of decent sized cloves and swig them down with some water.

I'd be up for a Hampshire meet.Theres loads of flint around the edge of farmers fields around here.The best flint i've found comes from Beer in Devon,its worth a trip if you want some decent knapping material.
