Pocket Bellows - Telescopic, Light Weight

How much difference does it make in wet conditions?

Pocket Bellows - Telescopic, Light Weight

Ozzy - you can get them shipped internationally, though maybe a group buy would be more cost effective. http://www.ebay.com/usr/pocketbellows I really wanted something light weight and portable, as I generally carry too much anyway. They recommend not to use it as a poker, but I'm hoping it's...

Pocket Bellows - Telescopic, Light Weight

Every time I go camping I spend longer than I would care to with my face stuck inches from a fire blowing in life giving oxygen, having a beard this sometimes proves troublesome! Whether it's raining or just damp wood sometimes it just takes too long to get a fire going. Every time I come back...

    Luxe Megahorn 2 Stove

I'm delighted with this thread! I've been humming and hawing about a large shelter with room for a stove for winter camping. Coupled with a SeekOutside Titanium Stove (c. 1.3kgs) it would even be packable!

    Luxe Megahorn 2 Stove

Really glad you posted this. I've been looking for a cheap entry into floorless teepee/tents. I'll have to find a cheap wood burning stove to go with it, but I'm glad know now that it will accept it. Was there much of a gap between the tent and the heat shield? Enough, that is to let rain through?

Day Walking - Cold and Wet Gear

I have used walking shoes for the past few years, however I'm tired of wet feet. Especially camping, by the first night my shoes are soaked and I'm in sandals for the rest of the camp! :P I think I'll trial the Para boots first, as they're not that expensive. Also by next year, myself and my...

Day Walking - Cold and Wet Gear

I'm getting some great ideas from this thread. For boots, I'm looking at either the German Para Boots (cheap) or the Meindl Vakuum GTX (expensive, but cheaper from Ebay.de). I can't seem to find a good place to get the Para Boots. They're first on my list as Poncho/Umbrella combo will do for the...

Day Walking - Cold and Wet Gear

I really appreciate the comments so far guys. It's been bucketing rain now for the past two days with no sign of it stopping. I think for now I need to sort out a pair of warm, waterproof boots, and a genuinely waterproof jacket. On the subject of jackets, are there those of you who would prefer...

Day Walking - Cold and Wet Gear

Thanks for your quick responses so far guys. :) On the subject of footwear, the Lidl shoes are not waterproof, but overall are quite decent in the summer months. Terrain will be a mix of easy woodland trails, and low/medium gradient "mountains" (we don't really have mountains over here). Most...

Day Walking - Cold and Wet Gear

Hey guys, I've been lurking here for quite a while, first time posting. I've recently started day walking (and night walking for that matter) once or twice a week with a fairly interesting member of the opposite sex. We've been blessed with good weather most times over the last month, with...
