    Camp Fires & The Law

The CROW Act 2000 allows people to wander freely across uncultivated open land without having to stick to the existing Rights of Way. It already existed in Scotland and is being phased in in England and Wales and will be completed by November this year. More info here It makes no change to...

    Sizing for a 5.11 shirt

I'm going to treat myself to a couple of shiny new 5.11 tactical shirts but can't find a sizing chart anywhere. One companies M, L and XL can be very different to anothers so if someone could give me an idea of the sizing it would be much appreciated. Cheers.

    Jungle Kit

Try the Water Blockers, they have a seal around the top making them submersible. I'd recommend getting them before you go, you'll have the opportunity to break them in, which will reduce the chance of blisters. Altberg make my favourites, and if you visit the factory you can have them...

    'Woodlore' knife on E-bay

The early Woodlores were made to different dimensions than the current ones. Saying that though, I'm not sure if those measurements given are correct; 5mm does seem a little too thick.

    Sew Kit

Must. Resist. Nope, it's no good, I can't. I'm weak. Go on then, what do you all keep in your sew kits? Bearing in mind it took me three weeks and 12 attempts to make a match case, or as most people would refer to it 'a tube', this may take me some time

    Sew Kit

I had thought of that, but I know if I start putting together my own I'll get the urge to make a leather pouch for it, which, me being the absolute perfectionist that I tend to be, will take many attempts and much more time than I have. Saying that, I feel myself getting more and more...

    Sew Kit

Does anyone know where I could get a good bushcrafty sew kit from (preferably on-line)? I'm looking for a sensible selection of needles, not over the top though; it will be for repairing clothing and kit, not making doilies and/or storm jibs. Also some strong thread, a needle threader, some...

    Green obsessed...

Personally, I like to feel part of my surroundings, subdued greens and browns help with that. Being a fluorescent blot in an otherwise pristine woodland would make me feel out of place, too 'civilised' to be a part of nature. Also, many animals do see in colour, and all can see difference in...

    De-lurking

I'm liking this idea; I've not made a bow before and it's ideal bow size. Cheers matey :)

    De-lurking

As you all seem like a friendly and knowledgable bunch, now seems as good a time as any to stop lurking and say hello, so... hello. I'm Shaun, 27, live in N.E Lincs, and have been practicing bushcraft for about 12 years. I also do a lot of mountain biking, some open water swimming, go on the...
