    my fav christmas shop

    for 10 months of the year this shop sells grass seed and hens food upstairs, then in late nov they put on there christmas display, they even have a peat fire burning up there.

    autumn comes to the island

    this was yesterday morning 6.30, the mist lays in a small valley below my cottage and i could just make out the two farms in the mist, it made an interesting photo, the other one is slightly later when the sun had came over the hill.

    winged visiter to my garden

    this far north it always suprises me to come across little creatures like this doing battle with the elements and seemingly winning, it was laying it's eggs on a metel washing pole when i found it so i moved it to the wooden fence, a bit warmer.

    wild geese

    living up here in the wild north, we always consider autumn to have arrived when we see the first of the wild geese. Well this year they are very early, the first skiens have been flying over my cottage for a few days now, hope it doesn't mean we are in for a long hard winter.
