Well after spending 20 mins of so beating the life out of the valve the wrong way around (clockwise to loosen)... I had a look at the edge of the threads that were still exposed and discovered that they were infact a normal (anticlockwise to loosen) thread... It came of really easy after that...

I saw one on ebay also for about £6.00 or so... £2.00 postage to the UK... Then I noticed the small print, the seller didn't include Northern Ireland as part of the UK and was going to charge me £12.00 postage...!!! Ruddy Riles me that....
