What wildlife did you spot today?

I was debating that. But the lack of a larger white flash on the wing tipped me over to greeny. Although I know that’s not always present on juveniles and some individuals.

JonathanD and CLEMS epic days out.

I think that’d be a great idea. There’s a load of makers around you. And to get everyone together to show their wares would be great. As I said, I could have spent days talking about the stuff you have randomly lying about, and that’s just the tip of the iceberg.

Exactly. I hate to think how many hours go into the making of one knife, entirely by hand, by one man. Not to mention the time sourcing the scale material the customer wants, and then finding a piece of that material that they prefer. Then you have the sheath, which most regard as an...

There’s some really nice limited editions he made for the NHS, using his own model as the base, with blue liners. A really stunning knife and a unique profile. It’s become quite a signature blade of his over the years. I love the bolts. Just neat and aesthetically pleasing. There’s also...

Stu’s workshop is on the first floor with a great rooftop access over Portland Works and Sheffield. I’ve seen pictures of his workshop for years with the updates and making of posts we made for BcUK way back. So to see it in person finally, the place where all of my knives were born was...

JonathanD and CLEMS epic days out.

We had a great day out yesterday. And a trip that was a very very very long time coming. Up to Sheffield to see Stuart Mitchell and Portland Works. I think Stu and I have been communicating for nearly a quarter of a century now. If not longer. I first commissioned a Deval Bushcrafter off...

How cool is that. And then I’ll need to commission someone to make a double sheath for my bushcraft and FS knives.

Such an odd girl. No idea who you you got that off. Where’s the pics of you and your baddest womans beach camping and foraging last week?

Amazing. I have a massive collection of original SOE equipment and ephemera. Including a Welrod and a load of other stuff. What’s this course all about?

    New Morakniv Morkret

That scar is still very vivid. Great times. Wouldn’t trade them for the world. I’m good. Sadly Emma passed away in June after a long time fighting off blood cancer. Pops is now in her second year of uni. Soon to be off to remote regions with more fixed bladed parangs. How are you going? It...

Whatcha mate. It comes with the same sheath as the Amberg. And they’re releasing more accessories for it too.

I think it’s just over 3kg, that includes the heavy mat as well though. I’d ditch that and go with a lighter alternative. And you wouldn’t need one in the warmer months.

    Dartmoor WS Knife

The Survival came out in 1984 and that was the one Ray designed. I think it was in production for around five or six years. Wilkinsons then decided to revive it around 2004 and refined the design slightly by getting rid of the serrated edge and bottle opener and making the saw more effective...
