An American Outdoorsman moving to the UK!

It makes sense when you think about it. The degrees show your expertise in the subject but the Eagle award shows you can work and cooperate as a team member, have leadership skills, organizational skills, and a sense of duty to the common good.

What Damascus said ab What Damascus said about the ordinance survey maps. They're very much like our topographical maps except they're more up to date than ours.

An American Outdoorsman moving to the UK!

@TeeDee, "Eagle Scout is one of the ranks you can achieve in the BSA. It's the highest rank and will get you advanced rank when enlisting in the military (Eagle Scouts come in as an E3 rather than an E1) It also gives a slight edge on a civilian resume.

    What did you buy today?

@TeeDee Don't get me wrong about the ancient weapons collection; I love it. however if you're buying them with a view to "take France, then America" wouldn't it be more cost effective just to buy France and then America? LOL

    Out and about Catch-up Thread.

All of those look great. I think I like the idea of saving a few trips to make a collage; it gives a sense of looking back over the months. That bow is beautiful. Have you ever made a recurve?

    Suggestions for a legal carry

Everybody has a different idea of what they need "every day." That said the selection of nonlocking knives under 3 inch blade length is almost limitless. I always favored a 3 blade stockman style or a 2 blade trapper style or a Barlow style for most general purpose cutting tasks. All of those...

Recently my symptoms had been worsening so my cardiologist ordered a second catheterization and this time they...

    Not quite 'bushcraft' but camping

Regarding the shelter/tent instead of rehashing what’s already been said, I’d also consider how many are going. I’d like a full wall tent (ticks all the boxes mentioned already plus some: roomy, able to stand in it, possible to have a fire or stove, etc.) but if I’m going alone it would be a...
