    Fly-Tying

    Haven’t tied in about 20 years but going to get back into it. Used to love sea trout fishing at night with flies recommended by Hugh Falkus. Any one recommend a good vise but nothing cheap, happy to spend on a good quality item.

    I use a spigarelli fletching jig, about £40. Cartel do a copy for around £25. I like a metal jig so it’s easy to scrape off excess glue.

    Alan Wood, the maker. I've had a few from him but my last two were a "matched pair" of Bushcrafter and Alpinist and they're cracking knives in RWL-34 and green linen micarta with orange liners and central pin. Example of his work below.

    I bought an Erapuu 210 which I like and kept, but it came with a decent chip in the edge. Didn’t bother returning as I expected to give it some hard use. Although I do maybe think that a 240 would have been better
