I use a webtex basha (only decent bit of kit webtex do) the basha can clip to its self making it into a bivvy. Along with a DD tarp not much is getting through that. The bonus is I can also use it as another tarp.
You hold the thin end and throw it at the 3 o'clock position with a flick of the wrist parallel to the ground to create the lift. The heavy end helps create the spin.
I'm just up the valley from Swansea. I don't think the wood was hard enough and twisted enough for hornbeam. I was surprised at how much the colouration looked like birch in the fibers.

I work with fish for a living and fish 2 to 5 times a week I would doubt I could get fish 80% of the time for a survival situation. Some times its just a gamble.
The wife was getting home sick and I was fed up in my job. Luckily I've landed my self a job with NRW on the fishery side so I'm spending the summer in welsh rivers rather than a desk :cool: i do look forward to your photos though just to keep in touch with the old local area.
Nice shot Alf I used to come across a few dead bucks in the woods on the other side of the road from them shots. The majority of them were 2 years old. I'm already missing the old open cast site.
Oh these carving were done a few years back just recently moved from Cumbria to South Wales I can't cope with these temperatures been sat in side with the fans running.
I'm thinking of heading to the river with my leaking (wet suit) waders and try and tempt some trout to the fly.
