The Woodland axe. It’s a little bigger & heavier & a longer haft than the basic axe. Similar size to the GB SFA, which I always regretted selling.

There are many fake Spydies around, but you’re not going to know if you want a real one by trying the fake version. As many have said, just get one. You won’t lose much on it if you change your mind.

I’d been eyeing up Robin’s axes for a while as I do have a bit of a soft spot for Sheffield steel. Sold all my Gransfors axes & replaced with one I forged with Dave Budd plus a heavy one he forged without me. Robin’s axe is nicely in between the two.

Gold has done pretty well recently & is known to be good in a crisis. The current world instability should make it a solid investment. Some in a reputable unit trust or insurance policy savings plan might be good too. Medium risk stuff seems to be the sweet spot at the moment.

That one looks very similar to mine in terms of proportions & they come out lovely. Bear in mind that the addition of an extra egg will make it more cake-like. I usually brush the tops with milk & sprinkle a little Demerara sugar on top for crunch.
