Building a sheath for this particular knife - question

I tried a couple of options for a Boat Knife style blade which isn't 100 miles away. First one was a friction fit belt sheath. Was very deep as needed to grab the top of the handle and so the lanyard came in useful. Note the extra stitching to make it tighter. 2nd one was for living in...

Brambles, masses of beautifully ripe and sweet brambles

Think we got a little under 2.5kg. We were finding the sunny side of the path were all past but the shadey side were perfect, slower to ripen so bigger and juicier! So now I'm going to get some toast and jelly... :)

Brambles, masses of beautifully ripe and sweet brambles

We had a bumper crop this year, so much so that we made bramble jelly and apple and bramble jam at the weekend. Nothing too imaginative I'm afraid but I love bramble jelly and it saves me buying any jam for the next year!

    Price of Diesel...

IMHO it'll stop when some or all of the following happen We go electric Energy companies stop taking the pi$$ with mahoosive profits (it's not effiency savings that are boosting profits, it's gouging to make up for 2020 (when they still made a profit!)) We scale back our dependency on fossil...

    Faraday cage

It's to do with power as you would expect but also the frequency. A very long time ago I used to work in radar and EMC and IIRC it was to do with waveguide beyond cutoff. As mentioned unless there is a conductive gasket or interlocking edges there will be an gap that EM radiation can sneak...

The benefits of Bushcraft on Health?

Yep one of the main reasons I canoe, cycle and do archery is for the meditative aspect. Getting outdoors lets you focus on different aspects of your environment at a much slower pace, all good for what's inside my napper!

    Petrol and Diesel Shortages

Heard an interesting conspiracy theory that all the petrol stored but not consumed last year is going to 'go off' soon so they thought they'd invent a crisis to get it all consumed before then.... :D Tinfoil on! ;) Just whacked in £70 of unleaded, no queues or anything up here. Down in...

    Petrol and Diesel Shortages

Went to the supermarket at lunchtime to get some stuff for the weekend. Lots of people queueing to get fuel and also MacDonalds which is in the same area as the petrol station/supermarket. I suspect people were out getting their big macs and decided to fill up while they were out. Drove to...
