    Exped downmat/synmat users - a question

I really really want one of these but just can't make my mind up on what size to get. Is anyone using the standard width mats and how do find them? I've been using a long wide airmat and in comparison a standard width mat ( a thermarest) felt horribly narrow. I'm leaning towards getting...

    Waterproofing a basha/tarp.

Do you mean the stuff that comes in a tube that you use in a sealant gun? I guess this sounds dim but how do you dilute it, just squirt some into a pot, add white spirit and stir?

I know there's more than one women on here, surely some of you must be brave the odd chilly night. Come on gals/ladies/women, what sleeping bags are you using?

    Women's sleeping bags

I'll be in a tent. On the bank holiday in question I was in a tent with a mat (self-inflating). It can't have been that cold (although I did hear nearby children whinging 'mummy I'm cooooooold') but I wonder whether the damp affected the loft of the bag. Thinking of treating myself to an...

    Women's sleeping bags

Not necessarily women's specific bags but what would you ladies recommend for the autumn/winter? I have a Marmot down bag (I think it's a Helium) that's supposed to be comfortable to -5. A few years ago I froze my butt off on a damp bank August holiday at Llyn Gwynant campsite in Snowdonia...

    Thermares Prolite Regular - Unused

Unused apart from having a lie on it in the bedroom It's the Womens version which, basically, is a bit shorter than the men's version and purple. It's the same weight as the men's as it has a bit of extra padding in the torso area. This one £50 posted

Too heavy for a couple of nights wild camping?

In need of a new mattress

Last summer I ummed and arred about getting an Exped Downmat or Synmat then found they were all sold out. In the end, I got an Exped Airmat for buttons off ebay. it's the extra large size, so somewhat longer and 63cm wide vs 50cm ish normally. It was super comfortable - the extra width being a...

    Bradders in Iceland

I spent 6 weeks in Iceland back in 1995, camped at the foot of Vatnajokull. That summer, England enjoyed a great heatwave - we got rained on nearly every day! My Goretex boots got wet and stayed wet :( As poor students we were too tight to stick coins in the meter and endured cold showers. We...

    Go Outdoors

I visit the Stockport branch quite regularly and have noticed the store seems to have fewer genuine bargains than it used to. I'm not going to get excited about £10 off a £100 quid jacket. A lot of the cheap stuff is, well, cheap stuff. Some good discounts on big brands but you can often find...

Anyone know of any tents that can compare to this?

Cotswold Outdoor in Leeds had the Vango Apex on sale for either £125 or £129 last week. I can't see it on their website anywhere but it might be worth ringing the shop if you do fancy getting one.

Granite Gear Virga Rucksack - any opinions on this ultralight sack?

I wouldn't chance sticking that in the hold. Your 65L pack doesn't sound too shabby at 1.5kg. Why not spend the cash on lightening some other items.

    Which titanium cooking pot?

Surprisingly, yes they have. It was also sans pole hood. A package arrived today with the missing bits, plus some extra random steel pegs. I was reading that very blog earlier today :)

    Which titanium cooking pot?

I got one of those bargain lasers from F&T too. Couldn't believe how light it was then discovered it was missing the pole!
