I've done Bently Copse in October, and yes, it's pretty good. Having the whole site to yourself is a massive bonus as well.

How about taking (or making new ones as you go - as big as you like) boards and a set of pieces to play Nine (or 3, 5, 6 or 12) Mans Morris, Fox & Geese and some of the smaller Tafl games?
These are simple games needing simple boards and pieces, with rules that are easy to pick up, but still...
